Across our agribusinesses, we have impacted more than 35,000 smallholder farmers and farm workers, generating more than $80m in farmer income to date.

About This Role

Acceso is seeking a Sr. Accountant with a collaborative, positive, proactive attitude, effective communication skills, and a passion for accounting, who strives to deliver outstanding results. He or She will provide support and leadership for the accounting team to help them be successful in their role, the Accountant is a key member of Acceso Haiti team and is responsible for enforcing proper accounting policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Reconciling vendor statements of suppliers and producers
  • Accounting of inputs purchasing
  • Maintaining accurate records of accounts payable transaction
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Participating in audits related to account payable.
  • Reconciliation of Purchase orders issued versus invoices recorded.
  • Generating financial reports related to accounts payable.

Accounts Receivable Suppor t

  • Supervise the Jr. Accountant.
  • Support the Jr. Accountant in account receivable follow up, collaborate with the sales department for effective follow up on debt collection.
  • Ensure proper and timely weekly close of Sales, as well as monthly close of financial accounts.
  • Ensuring communication protocols for Timely information sharing related to this position tasks.
  • Reviewing inputs invoices and reconciliation between Netsuite and Farmforce
  • Project Accounting
  • Manage Petty Cash
  • Historical accounting clean-up support

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in accounting.
  • Must have at least (2) years of experience in Accounts Payable
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Experience in agribusiness or rural development projects, specifically in food industry.
  • Mastery of accounting and office software: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, NetSuite
  • Advanced user of MS Office Suite applications.
  • Oral and written fluency in French, Kreyol and English or Spanish.
  • Detail-oriented and able to effectively meet deadlines and achieve results.
  • Be available for multi-day missions within the country and potentially abroad.
