Acceso’s mission is to create fundamental and lasting positive economic change in the lives of rural smallholder farming families. Our entrepreneurial model provides smallholder farmers with a sustainable way to participate in formalized markets, enabling them to work themselves out of poverty with dignity and to prosper. Acceso currently operates a portfolio of three social businesses in Colombia, Haiti and El Salvador and an agtech tool (Extensio) founded in Mexico. Across our agribusinesses, we have impacted nearly 35,000 smallholder farmers and farm workers, generating more than $80m in farmer income to date.

About this role:
Acesso is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader to serve as Agriculture Program Director in Haiti. This role is not about technical agronomy; it’s about creating and leading a high-performing team, aligning with organizational vision, and driving impact for smallholder farmers. The ideal candidate is a seasoned manager who thrives in complex environments, builds trust across teams, and translates strategy into action. We are looking for someone who is passionate about growing the organization and will be a fierce advocate on behalf of the farmer to increase yields and profitability for smallholders in Haiti.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Execution

  • Translate Acesso’s vision into clear operational plans for agriculture programming.
  • Collaborate with country and global leadership to ensure alignment across functions.
  • Drive performance using data, feedback, and adaptive management.
  • Oversee data systems deployment to ensure all field staff operations and farmer activities are recorded
  • Oversee execution of farmer campaigns, input package distribution, and sourcing coordination.
  • Ensure timely delivery of program milestones and outputs.
  • Manage program budgets, monitor spending, and adjust plans to stay within financial targets.
  • Collection of Loan repayment through in kind and cash means

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the agriculture team to deliver results and grow professionally.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of field staff, including technicians and managers.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure team structure and roles are aligned with strategic goals.
  • Create and evolve a team structure that can scale effectively to reach our goal of serving 30,000 farmers in Haiti.

Farmer- Centered Impact

  • Ensure programming is responsive to farmer needs and delivers outsized impact.
  • Champion a simple, staff-understandable “Theory of Impact” for each major crop.
  • Advocate fiercely for farmer profitability and yield improvement across all programming

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Country Leadership

  • Work closely with MEL, Credit, Logistics, and Tech teams to ensure integrated programming.
  • Represent agriculture in strategic discussions and planning processes.
  • Work with the Tech team to implement and iterate on Extensio 2.0 and other data systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience managing teams and leading programs in complex environments.
  • 7+ years’ experience working with rural or low-income communities and building teams that provide proven tangible impact
  • Strong strategic thinking and operational execution skills.
  • Willingness to learn new areas and skills to help design and advise on different aspects of the business.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator across diverse teams.
  • Can manage teams that based in the field and is able to understand the different circumstances and needs of each area, as well as take a critical eye to what is reported by the team
  • Experience in agriculture is a plus but not required.
  • We want someone who will be able to work and understand that as a social enterprise we need to be nimble and not reliant on grant funding.
  • Fluent in Haitian Creole, French, and English; Spanish is a plus.
