About the role:
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for contributing to all Acceso’s activities, day-to-day operations of Finance Team starting by the verification of financial documents and data, to book transactions in Acceso’s accounting software for foodstuffs and seeds sales, as well as the entry of payable transactions. The Junior Accountant will have also to participate in the on-field missions related to the periodical inventory of different warehouses located in the provincial towns, as well as the monthly missions related to the settlement of government taxes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and issue daily quotation that might be requested by the Sales Team.
- Review product pricing, availability in the system, and any special terms.
- Create customer invoices along with the supporting documents
- Ensure the customers’ profile and information are updated in the system.
- Review aging AR invoices of credit applied to farmers and local organizations for collection efforts and ensure constant follow-up with the delinquent customers.
- Help with the reconciliation between the inventoried products versus the system data.
- Perform the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and the credit card module.
- Update the asset depreciation file on a monthly basis.
- Flag any discrepancies identified between general ledger balances and aging receivables/payables.
- Perform the monthly and annual statutory missions related to the settlement of government royalties in an accurate, timely, and compliant manner.
- Contribute to the quarterly inventory mission
- Participate in the physical counts of products stored in regional and central warehouses and document any discrepancies in stock levels.
- Identify irregularities in the management of stored products and the application of procedures.
- Furnish assistance for tasks related to External audits for the smooth running of audits missions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Good analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills, and adhering to standards to maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Positive attitude to contribute to change and proven ability to deliver results and keep pace with change in a dynamic environment.
- Keep eyes for details to ensure financial data match supporting documents to confirm its validity.
- Confidentiality with using the internal financial documents, as well as in resolving problems related to staff, customers, suppliers, banks, auditors, taxes, and other teams withing the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and reconciliation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment.
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, finance or administration with at least two (2) years in data entry, data analysis with local or international company in the Global South, preferably in Haiti.
- Advanced user of MS Office Suite applications.
- Experience in using accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, and others)
- Oral and written fluency in French, Creole, and English. Spanish is a plus.
