Aquazim is a Zimbabwean initiative (NGO) supporting communal projects that encourage the use of creative solutions to poverty. Aquazim is responding to humanitarian emergencies, promoting community development, and building resilience.
The major objectives of Aquazim are:
1. To promote sustainable development and growth of fisheries and aquaculture activities and introduce rural freshwater aquaculture in communities as a poverty alleviation measure.
2. To increase rural food security, incomes, and livelihood of poor smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe through integrated agriculture-aquaculture farming systems, water, and soil fertility options.
3. To promote sustainable development and growth of aquaculture and fisheries programs through both intensive and extensive training of farmers.
