ATEC is a climate tech company that provides clean cooking solutions to households across the Global South. Our IoT-enabled electric induction stoves and biodigesters replace biomass-fueled cooking in Asia and Africa, while simultaneously generating fully digitised carbon credits and providing households at the base of the pyramid with access to global carbon markets. ATEC is decarbonising cooking through verifiable technology and solving a health problem that affects 1 in 2 people on the planet.

The ESG & Impact Reporting Officer will play a critical role in capturing, analysing, and communicating the environmental and social outcomes generated by ATEC’s work. Reporting to the Chief Carbon Officer, this role will ensure ATEC’s projects and activities are consistently aligned with international ESG frameworks and stakeholder expectations.

By establishing robust data systems, performance tracking processes, and transparent reporting, the ESG & Impact Reporting Officer will strengthen ATEC’s ability to communicate measurable impact to investors, partners, regulators, and communities. This role will also collaborate across internal teams, enhancing ATEC’s reputation as a trusted provider of sustainable and verifiable impact solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESG Strategy

  • Develop and implement ESG strategy to achieve impact and reporting objectives
  • Support the integration of ESG objectives into company-wide strategy and project delivery
  • Collaborate with leadership to define ATEC’s ESG and impact reporting roadmap
  • Monitor emerging ESG trends and disclosure requirements to inform business strategy

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Develop and maintain systems for collecting ESG and impact data across global projects.
  • Provide insights and recommendations through regular analysis of performance indicators and outcomes
  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of reported information

Impact Measurement and Performance Tracking

  • Define and implement indicators for measuring project-level and company-wide impact
  • Develop dashboards and reports that track progress against ESG targets and KPIs
  • Identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies to enhance positive impact
  • Develop a comprehensive annual impact report

Investor and ESG Reporting

  • Prepare high-quality ESG and impact reports for investors, partners, and stakeholders
  • Develop periodic impact reporting framework and prepare impact reports
  • Respond to investor and donor requests for ESG and impact data in a timely manner
  • Translate technical results into engaging impact narratives and visuals

Reporting Framework Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with evolving global ESG standards and disclosure requirements
  • Provide guidance across teams on compliance with ESG frameworks

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams to capture ESG and impact-related insights
  • Engage external stakeholders to validate impact reporting where required
  • Support communications teams to articulate ATEC’s mission and impact

Risk Assessment

  • Identify ESG-related risks and opportunities across projects and portfolios
  • Assist in scenario planning for climate-related risks and resilience factors
  • Develop recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance ESG performance

Carbon Market Monitoring & Insights

  • Track carbon markets dynamics—pricing, liquidity, buyer preferences, ICVCM/CCP integrity signals, registry governance
  • Publish a monthly Carbon Markets Intelligence Brief with clear implications and actions for ATEC
  • Monitor UNFCCC guidance, authorisation pathways, and corresponding adjustments
  • Translate developments into guidance on claims, labelling, and dual-use restrictions
  • Track phase updates, eligible programs/methodologies, and airline demand trends
  • Maintain a live matrix of LoA processes, authorisation scope, use restrictions, fees/share-of-proceeds, and registry linkages

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in ESG, impact measurement, or sustainability reporting roles.
  • Strong knowledge of international ESG and impact reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD, etc.).
  • Proven track record in managing ESG or social impact data and reporting systems.
  • Previous experience in any roles within the carbon markets is a plus.
  • Ability to analyse complex datasets and communicate insights clearly and effectively.
