🏆 build up nepal is an award-winning social enterprise that is on a mission to transform nepal’s construction sector and break the cycle of poverty. Nepal is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world. Many marginalised families dream of living in a safe, brick house, but cannot afford it. The fired brick industry is also a big polluter. 🏡 our locally-led model supports micro-enterprises to produce climate-friendly bricks and build disaster-resilient homes that are greener, cheaper, safer and scalable. We have supported more than 300 micro-enterprises, built over 8,600 homes and created 3,400 jobs, while cutting 86,000 tonnes of co2 emissions. 🌏 by 2030, we want to go further and replace 10% of nepal’s fired bricks.
