BUILDING TOMORROW RWANDA FELLOWS PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY: COHORT 2

The BT Fellowship Program recruits, trains, and deploys dynamic recent college graduates to mobilize rural villages to create sustainable solutions to support inclusive and quality education in their communities. Through pre-service training, in-service coaching, and post-fellowship support, youth leaders become co-creators of innovative solutions. 2025 marked the inaugural year for BT’s first cohort of Rwandan Fellows. In 2026, we are recruiting 50 Fellows to serve as change agents in Bugesera, Rwamagana, Kamonyi, Rulindo, and other areas to be determined. Fellows will work with Community Education Teams to implement R2R, complementing existing remedial programming offered in Rwandan schools.

The BT Fellowship is highly selective and offers young leaders the opportunity to practice and hone skills in leadership, advocacy, management, communications, data management & analysis, and project design & management. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, Fellows join a dynamic, creative, and driven cadre of alumni who collaborate with and inspire one another to build careers and organizations that change the world.

ABOUT BUILDING TOMORROW

Founded in 2006, Building Tomorrow (BT) is a community-powered organization that harnesses the potential of local change-makers to connect learners across rural East Africa with transformational education programs. Through the organization’s signature Roots to Rise (R2R) literacy and numeracy program, BT has enrolled more than 975,000 learners since the start of the program. BT’s work is powered by a team of over 20,000 Community Education Volunteers, in partnership with local and national-level stakeholders. In 2025, BT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Rwanda’s Ministry of Education. This milestone agreement began the next chapter of BT’s work, complementing the continued scaling of the organization’s proven locally-led model in Rwanda, developing sustainable education opportunities for even more learners throughout rural communities in East Africa.
