About the role
Burn is looking for a Commercial Project Officer, who will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
    • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community partners, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
    • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Budget Management:
    • Assist in the development of project budgets and financial plans.
    • Monitor project expenditures, track budget compliance, and report on financial performance.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Oversee data collection activities related to project outcomes and impacts.
    • Analyze project data to generate insights, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet established standards and specifications.
    • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure project effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, reports, and correspondence.
    • Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure collaboration and synergy across various project components.
    • Provide support and guidance to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Training and Capacity Building:
    • Develop and deliver training programs for project staff, partners, and community members.
    • Identify opportunities for capacity building and skill development within the project teams.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Project Management, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the clean cooking industry or related environmental sectors.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Communication skills in both written and spoken English and French or Portuguese.
  • Previous experience working on projects related to clean cooking or the last mile industry.
