Main Job Purpose:

Job Purpose

  • The Partnerships Manager at CHANCEN South-Africa is responsible for all aspects relating to establishment, management, and conducting due diligence of Chancen partners.
  • Establishment, management and formalization of strategic partnerships that will advance Chancen South-Africa’s implementation of the ISA.
  • Development and constant iteration of the Partnerships department strategies that are aligned with the overall organizational objectives.
  • Utilize data and insights to identify opportunities and efficiencies in the partnerships department.
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end management due diligence new and existing partnerships, which includes but is not limited to, collating, conducting analysis and preparing the ISA portfolio calculation data input sheets using data submitted by Partner in order for Chancen to assess risk associated with investing in a Partner Education Institutions.
  • Building and developing strong relationships with education partners and answering tough ISA financing problems with data analysis and insights.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

CHANCEN ISA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT:

Be responsible for the end-to-end due diligence on new and existing partner, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Engaging with various stakeholders to understand the business and data analysis goals in context of Chancen ISA financing investment strategy and vision.
  • Collating all due diligence data and information needed to assess risk associated with investing in a Partners.
  • Conduct analysis and prepare ISA underwriting related documents that provide various committees the ability to adequately assess risk against a Partner.
  • Presenting due diligence findings to various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Being the liaison between Partners and the various Chancen International teams involved in underwriting to ensure that due diligence is conducted timeously and the outcomes are clearly communicated to all stakeholders involved.
  • Conducting audits on Partners as and when required by company policy.

PARTNERSHIPS MANAGEMENT:

  • Generating new partnership leads in the private sector, public sector and other stakeholders aligned to the Chancen International vision and mission.
  • Build strong relationships with the current Partners in South-Africa, support existing programs and generate new opportunities.
  • Liaise with the Country Director and Executive team in managing various program processes (e.g. senior program leadership meetings, monthly reporting) and manage specific projects related to strategic partnerships and the development/establishment of networks.
  • Manage the development of all contract/partnership agreements with Chancen South-Africa partners.
  • Continuously evaluate Chancen South-Africa’s partnerships to ensure that they are still aligned to the Chancen International vision and mission.

DATA AND REPORTING:

  • Ensure delivery against ISA financing and impact targets set by the Country Director and the Chancen International Executive team.
  • Manage an up to date tracker of all existing and prospective partnerships – Partner Education Institutions and other strategic partners.
  • Select and integrate any big data sets and frameworks required to assess risk associated with ISA financing.

DISBURSEMENT MANAGEMENT:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of disbursement to Partners alongside the Chancen South-Africa operations and finance teams.

Person Specification:

Educational Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Project Management, Data Analysis, Research, Investment Management, or similar relevant field.
Technical Skills, Competencies, and Experience
  • 3 – 5 years working experience in investment management, particularly in managing education financing structures like Income Share Agreements (ISAs).
  • Strong risk assessment and due diligence skills, particularly in evaluating financial viability and sustainability of partner institutions.
  • Experience in partnerships or relationship management, especially in sectors like education, finance, or development, is crucial.
  • Experience managing large, multi-stakeholder projects or programs, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Knowledge of contract management, compliance, and monitoring of partnerships.
  • Familiarity with big data, financial metrics, or other frameworks to assess risk and track performance.
  • Experience in overseeing financial operations, such as disbursement management, working closely with finance and operations teams to ensure smooth fund transfers and compliance.
  • Have an understanding of macro-economic and sectoral labour market developments
