Position Description

We are seeking a commercially savvy, operations-focused Finance and Commercial Business Partner to sit at the intersection of Sales, Operations, and Finance. This role will support the financial management and control of our revenue-generating activities by ensuring accurate financial oversight, planning, and reporting for aggregation, fulfillment, and commercial activities. The candidate should demonstrate strong analytical skills, leadership potential, and commercial acumen.

Finance and Commercial Business Partner will provide critical financial insights that inform management decision-making, ensure accountability, and drive sustainable, profitable growth.

What You’ll Do:

Financial Business Partnering

  • Act as a key financial business partner to the Sales & Operations teams.
  • Attend S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings and contribute financial insights to inform strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Provide financial guidance on commercial strategy, resource allocation, and market opportunities.

Revenue, Aggregation & Performance Monitoring

  • Track aggregation and revenue performance against budgets and targets.
  • Validate revenue recognition from all sales lines and aggregation.
  • Review and advise on commercial buyer contracts to ensure favorable and compliant terms.
  • Conduct margin analysis, profitability assessments, and variance reporting across products, regions, and buyer segments.

Receivables, Collections & Cash Flow Oversight

  • Manage full accounts receivable lifecycle: invoicing, reconciliations, and collections from buyers, vendors, and employees.
  • Follow up on aged receivables and work with the Sales team to recover overdue amounts.
  • Plan and monitor cash flow related to aggregation and sales operations.
  • Analyze working capital usage (budget vs actual) and report deviations with root-cause analysis.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

  • Provide financial inputs to budgeting and planning cycles for aggregation, sales, and operations.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and variance reports and conduct scenario planning to support commercial decision-making.
  • Prepare end-of-season performance dashboards including revenue, margin, and working capital usage.

Month-End Close & Internal Controls

  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to ensure timely and accurate month-end close.
  • Ensure data alignment across sales, aggregation, and financial systems.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial discipline across sales and operational activities.

Compliance, Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify risks and opportunities to improve financial efficiency and revenue integrity
  • Ensure financial compliance with internal policies (including KYC/AML procedures) and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor potential risks in customer/vendor relationships and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Maintain appropriate financial audit trails for aggregation and receivables processes.

Team Supervision & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Supervise and guide two Finance officers
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Serve as the key financial contact point for operations and sales teams.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting, commercial finance, or operational finance roles
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • ICAG, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting certification (part-qualified or fully qualified)
  • Experience providing clear financial analysis and reporting to business stakeholders
  • Exposure to tax compliance and regulatory reporting in Ghana
  • Strong technical accounting background with experience applying IFRS
  • Demonstrated experience supporting revenue recognition, margin analysis, and operational cost management
  • Familiarity with sales operations, supply chain processes, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights clearly to business leaders
  • Data analysis skills (e.g., using Excel or Power BI for trend analysis, dashboards, or summaries) will be an advantage
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams
  • Exposure to agriculture, AgriTech, supply chain, or marketplace platforms (preferred but not required)
