Cycle Connect is a socially-driven business that delivers agricultural products and tools to farmers living in remote, rural areas in Northern Uganda.
Millions of farmers are financially excluded and yet need access to products on credit. This is where Cycle Connect delivers, as we specialize in offering productive tools on financing plans, reaching the most last mile customers, and offering low barrier loan terms built for farmers, enabling them to increase their income and in turn propel their communities forward.
We have a growing number of assets in our portfolio, including oxen and plough, bicycles, motorcycles, grinding machines, and a rich pipeline for even more. To date, we have worked with over 14,000 farmers across two different branches and backed up by over 50 team members. We are venturing through an exciting time of rapid growth and scale throughout Uganda and are therefore looking to expand our team
Position Summary
Cycle Connect seeks a dynamic and passionate individual to run and Manage our data, support the leadership team with relevant data to make strategic decisions, Data regarding our asset movement.
The Data Associate will work closely with other departments and teams to develop, improve and maintain a robust data driven team
Key Responsibilities
Data management (60%)
Data Entry and Management
- Support with appraisals from Credit Officer While entering accurate data into the system
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing regular data quality checks.
Data Analysis
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Prepare reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Data Processing (GPS)
- Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of data from various sources.
- Collaborate with IT and Operations teams to ensure smooth data flow and integration
Backend office Support (40%)
Documentation
- Document data processes, methodologies, and workflows.
- Maintain comprehensive records of data sources and data management practices.
- Ensure proper maintenance of Credit documentation and monitoring
Collaboration
- Work with cross-functional teams to support data-related projects and initiatives.
- Provide assistance and training to team members on data management tools and best practices.
Loan Approvals
- Timely and update loan approval committee minutes
- Support with system loan approvals once the Credit officers have appraised the customers
- Attaching correct loan orders & amounts on each approved loan
- Review Credit requests to ensure all conditions and requirements precedent to disbursement are satisfied
Compliance and Security
- Adhere to data governance policies and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Assist in implementing data security measures.
- Ensure Compliance and timely, control and review all the files approval processes and policies that facilitate good customer relationship and service delivery within Cycle Connect
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in data handling and analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging data technologies
Who are we looking for;
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Data Science, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in data management or analysis (internships included).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Excel, SQL), statistical software (e.g., R, Python), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities
