Founded in 2004 with experts in public health and digital technology, we develop solutions that make health systems more personalized, accessible and coordinated. We partner with governments and like-minded organizations to improve the performance of health systems so that people receive the right care at the right place and time. We are currently improving health decisions in Malawi, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Zambia. About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Strategic Partnerships Lead to be responsible for key account and relationship management of strategic partnerships that generate multi-year funding, enhance D-tree’s visibility, and support initiatives to strengthen health systems. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to leverage their established network and program and partnership development expertise to unlock high-impact partnerships with donors and like-minded organizations to advance D-tree’s mission of expanding access to healthcare in Sub Saharan Africa.


Key Responsibilities
Strategic planning and leadership

  • Help advance and implement an annual strategy for partnerships and resource mobilization to achieve D-tree’s goals for growth.
  • Contribute to the development of D-tree’s partnerships function by providing insights, recommendations, and innovative ideas related to partnership design and growth initiatives centered around digital health system transformation.
  • Actively contribute to the design and improvement of fundraising processes and analytics (via strategies, dashboards, processes, trackers, etc.)


Partnership development and management

  • Actively contribute to D-tree’s growing fundraising pipeline by identifying new funders, with a particular focus on unrestricted, multi-year funding.
  • Reach out to high-potential funders and partners identified through personal and D-tree networks to establish a first connection and cultivate these leads through to fruition.
  • Negotiate and manage a subset of existing high-value partnerships to ensure mutual benefits, long-term collaboration and expansion.


Resource mobilization and fundraising

  • Oversee the development of high-quality proposals, grant applications, and concepts designed for strategic funders, and facilitate a culture of collaboration and high-quality execution.
  • Contribute to the development of accessible, clear, and compelling messages to highlight D-tree’s unique offering for strategic funders.
  • Monitor performance against targets for this funding vertical and work with the growth team to adjust strategies to meet or exceed targets.

Qualifications

  • Post graduate level education with a minimum of 6-7 years operating in international development, preferably with strong content knowledge of global health, primary healthcare, and digital health.
  • Significant network and relationships with major foundations and impact partners with a successful track record navigating funding conversations to achieve results.
  • History of closing or managing multi-million dollar partnerships with major philanthropic, corporate or family foundations; experience working with multi-laterals and government agencies is a bonus.
