About Dream a Dream
Started in 1999, Dream a Dream is a registered, charitable trust empowering young people from vulnerable backgrounds to overcome adversity and flourish in a fast-changing world using a creative Life skills approach. Currently, Dream a Dream runs an Innovation Lab engaging 10,000 young people every year referred from 40 partners, has transformed over 2000 educators from 38 schools impacting over 50,000 young people and engaged over 2500 volunteers.
Dream a Dream is a pioneer in the Life Skills space in India. The Dream Life Skills Assessment Scale developed in-house is today a published, standardized scale that can be used by any NGO/School to assess improvement in life skills. More recently, Dream a Dream has been recognized by Lego Foundation and Ashoka as a Champion (out of 630 global organisations) in the space of Re- Imagining Learning in the world.
Position: Research Fellow
Type: Contract (12 Months)
Location: Hybrid (Bangalore / Delhi)
Reporting Manager: Manager: Research and Impact
Salary Range: 600,000 -700,000/- per annum
Job Responsibility
This position will work closely with the Manager of Research and Impact team in supporting the activities in to collect, record, thematically analyse and report qualitative data and case stories.
As the Research Fellow, you’ll need to:
- Carrying out research activities related to the area of focus.
- To conduct primary and secondary research and study the involved concepts based on the project assigned.
- Participate in drafting/writing of scientific manuscripts and reports as needed.
Skills
- Have knowledge of qualitative research methods skills to work in various research projects.
- Apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, pilots, surveys, case studies and interviews.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong writing skills, able to communicate complex concepts to cater to the target audience.
- Project management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- A flexible approach to be able to work on several different projects at the same time.
- Organisational skills, including time management and the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Educational Qualification
- Postgraduate Degree in social science/ social work / psychology / education / related discipline
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of One years in social science research or developmental sector
- Knowledge of research methods, including experience conducting interviews, focus groups, and/or observational methods.
- Experience in using qualitative analysis software programs (NVivo, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti. etc.).
- Experience in writing technical and non-technical academic papers and articles.
