How you’ll help us achieve it

We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager who is passionate about solving real-world problems and eager to learn the craft of product management in a high-impact environment. Your work will help shape products that make a tangible difference for children, families, and communities across Kenya.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including product designers, engineers, and field operations to support the planning, execution, and delivery of digital solutions and strategic projects. You’ll help manage and coordinate projects from concept to completion, ensuring they stay on track, meet objectives, and deliver impact.

You’ll also play an active role in user research helping to gather feedback, conduct interviews, and observe how our solutions are used in the field. By staying connected to the realities of our stakeholders and operations, you’ll turn feedback and data into meaningful product and project improvements that enable us to deliver more meals, more efficiently, every day. Your organizational skills, analytical mindset, and passion for impact will help drive both our products and projects forward.

In this role, you’ll
  • Support end-to-end product development, from discovery and requirements gathering to launch and ongoing iteration.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Design, Engineering, QA, Data, and Operations to turn operational challenges into clear problem statements and actionable product solutions.

  • Take an active role in user research—helping to plan, conduct, and synthesize interviews, surveys, usability tests, and field visits to deeply understand the needs of students, parents, kitchen teams, and school administrators.

  • Help define, prioritize, and track product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria with a bias toward incremental delivery and measurable impact.

  • Analyze usage data and qualitative feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, and work with the team to drive continuous product enhancements.

  • Prepare and present your work, findings, and recommendations to the Digital/Product Manager and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project progress, trade-offs, and learnings.

  • Take ownership of assigned projects and tasks, following through from initiation to completion and keeping your manager updated at every step.

  • Contribute to product documentation, user guides, and training materials to ensure smooth adoption and understanding of new features.

Requirements
  • 2–4 years experience in a product, project, or operations role—ideally within a technology, social enterprise, or fast-paced startup environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex issues into actionable steps.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.

  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to prepare and present findings, updates, and recommendations to managers and stakeholders.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively across cross-functional teams and engaging directly with users in the field through interviews, observations, and user research activities.

  • Analytical mindset with a willingness to dive into data and user feedback to generate actionable insights.

  • Experience participating in or supporting user research, usability testing, or field studies.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of product management, with a proactive approach to taking on new projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Nice to have
  • Experience working on digital products in emerging markets or operational settings.

  • Familiarity with Agile development or iterative product delivery.

  • Exposure to user research methodologies and basic data analysis.

  • Interest in social impact, education, or food systems.

  • Comfort presenting to diverse audiences, from field operators to senior leadership.
