Position Overview
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and offloading stacks of cereals and other materials, transferring bulk stock between storage zones, pallet stacking, and supporting dispatch operations. The role contributes directly to maintaining warehouse workflow, product integrity, and compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Load and offload stacks of cereals, packaging materials, and other warehouse goods.
  • Transfer bulk stock between designated storage zones and production areas as directed.
  • Perform accurate pallet stacking to optimize space utilization and maintain organized inventory zones.
  • Support dispatch operations by preparing, arranging, and moving goods for shipment.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to internal food safety, workplace safety, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Assist with periodic stock counts, inventory reconciliation, and warehouse housekeeping activities.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of daily targets.
  • Follow all supervisor instructions and operational schedules to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Involves lifting or moving heavy loads as part of normal operations.
  • Certification: Valid forklift driving license
