SUMMARY

A fantastic fixed-term opportunity to become Marketing & Events Officer with London Digital Jobs & Skills Hub - a social impact initiative with the primary goal to help unemployed and underemployed Londoners to gain access to their first entry levels roles in the tech and digital industries. The Hub connects these career seekers with free training opportunities and raises awareness of these opportunities by organising and delivering events both online and in-person across London. We also have an in-house careers coaching service, and in-house relationships with employers. Learn more about the project here: http://bit.ly/4eDqFh1 .

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The London Digital Jobs and Skills Hub is part of the Mayor of London’s Sectoral Academies programme. The project is funded by the Mayor of London and managed and delivered by Generation UK, an education charity that operates nationwide. The Hub team members are employed by Generation, but work exclusively on the Hub project. However there is also the opportunity for wider teamwork and engagement with other Generation colleagues.

The Hub aims to support diverse Londoners into good, entry-level tech jobs. To do this, the Hub works to build awareness of and guide jobseekers to choose between, access, and thrive on life-changing programmes delivered by an incredible coalition of Hub partners - including The King's Trust, Catch 22, QA Ltd, Just IT, and more. Since it's creation in 2022, the Hub has reached millions of Londoners through its marketing efforts, hosted many Hub events attended by thousands of unemployed Londoners, and reached thousands more at job fairs. Hundreds of people have enrolled onto our partner programmes and been placed into work.

The project is currently funded until the end of March 2026, with the possibility of extension beyond then.

We are a UK-registered charity, founded by McKinsey and Company, delivering tailored programmes to recruit, train and place unemployed people into work. For these learners, we have achieved an industry-leading 70% job placement rate with learners now placed at over 800 employers.

We have secured transformative corporate funding from Microsoft, the JP Morgan Charitable Foundation, the Macquarie Group Foundation, Barclays, Blackrock, and many more. We are also the leading charity delivering under contracts from the Department for Education’s Skills Bootcamp strand. This has driven our scale to new programmes, regions and beneficiary groups.
