About Generation:

At Generation, we believe in the power of employment to change lives. We are a global nonprofit organization that supports adults to achieve economic mobility through employment. Generation trains and places adult learners of all ages into careers that are otherwise inaccessible, working in partnership with governments, employers, and other system actors. We also conduct original research and share data insights on high-priority global workforce transition topics to inform decision-making by workforce system stakeholders. Launched in 2015, Generation comprises a global hub (Generation You Employed, or GYE) and a network of in-country affiliates. To date, the network has 150,000+ graduates and 23,000+ employers across 50 professions and 17 countries.

When learners join Generation, 91% are unemployed, of which nearly half are long-term unemployed. Three months after completing our program, graduates have an 78% job placement rate, rising to 88% within six months. Of our employed graduates, 79% are hired by repeat employers who have previously hired Generation graduates, and 89% are in jobs directly related to the profession for which we have trained them. Employed graduates immediately earn an average of 3-4X their previous earnings. Two to five years after graduation, 77% of our alumni from upper-middle income countries continue to meet their daily financial needs and 63% can save for the future. To date, Generation’s global graduates have earned more than $1.9 billion in wages. Generation graduates typically have a secondary school background, 52% are female, 28% have dependents, and the majority identify with underrepresented communities in their country.

What you’ll do:

The BD & Partnerships Associate will identify and qualify opportunities to expand Generation’s reach and impact with employer partners in Colombia and across LATAM. Leveraging industry insights and strong interpersonal skills, the BD & Partnerships Associate provides tailored support to the BD & Partnerships team to help build a robust pipeline of high‑quality employer leads.

Generation’s learners range from recent graduates to mid‑career professionals who participate in bootcamp-style training to develop the mindsets, technical skills, and behavioral competencies required to upskill/reskill and launch careers across various industries. The BD & Partnerships Associate helps deliver the “last mile” support needed to build strong connections with strategic employer partners.

This role also supports the identification of new programs by conducting demand‑side diagnostic analyses to assess the potential and sustainability of proposed programs and by contributing to the development of the materials required to secure internal approval for launch.

1) New employer partnerships

  • Qualify leads based on alignment with Generation’s mission and program goals, ensuring they meet strategic criteria.
  • Initiate outreach via email, phone, and other communication channels to establish connections with potential partners.
  • Assist in developing materials and presentations to support BD efforts.

2) Reports and Track Opportunities

  • Prepare and present weekly reports to monitor the progress and effectiveness of lead generation initiatives.
  • Update the CRM database (salesforce) with detailed information on leads, outreach efforts, and outcomes.
  • Track the status of opportunities by conducting follow-ups and documenting feedback from potential partners.

3) New program identification

  • Conduct desk research and interviews with potential employers for the new program under consideration, to understand market demand (e.g., industry trends, job vacancies, typical profiles hired, and job conditions).
  • Conduct focus groups or surveys with potential learners to understand their interests, barriers to participation, and the learner persona for the new programs.
  • Gather lessons learned from other countries in Generation’s network related to potential new programs.
  • Support the BD & Partnerships team in consolidating all findings and developing the materials needed to present and secure internal approval for new programs at Generation.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field with a solid academic record.
