The Opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is looking for an on-campus Assistant Professor of Psychology. This position is located onsite at our traditional Manchester, NH campus with an expected start date of August, 2024. We are open to candidates from a range of psychology subfields, especially experience teaching Statistics/Research Methods, Forensic Psychology, or Multicultural Psychology.

You will have a minimum 3/3 teaching course load with the typical class limited to twenty or thirty students. You should demonstrate clear scholarly/research pursuits and be willing to mentor our undergraduates in their research goals and professional development. Located in Manchester, New Hampshire, SNHU is in the heart of New England. Within an hour of Manchester, you will find the beaches of the New England seacoast, the boating of the New Hampshire Lakes Region, the hiking and skiing of the White Mountains, and the culture of Boston, Massachusetts.

In this Role You'll Get To:

  • Prepare and teach courses following approved course descriptions and class schedules
  • Participate in our departmental efforts for curriculum development, program reviews, and accreditation under the supervision of the department chair
  • Collaborate with faculty/staff in departmental and School-level projects
  • Participate in student career development and related advising or mentoring activities and special retention programs
  • Other responsibilities assigned to support the University

What we're Looking For:

  • An earned doctorate. We will consider ABD candidates that are on track to receive their degree by the anticipated start date
  • 1+ years of prior teaching experience
  • A foundation of experience focusing on DEI efforts in research and teaching
