The Opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is looking for an experienced Integrations Operations Support Engineer to support the operations of the integration of data between all university systems including the student information system (SIS), learning management system (LMS), and customer relationship management (CRM) system. You will report to the Senior Software Development Manager in the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) department of Information Technology Solutions. The Integration Operations Support Engineer supports the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of many diverse software solutions across platforms and technology stacks, with a focus on Microsoft.NET and MuleSoft technologies. Responsibilities include the support and monitoring of development, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of multiple software solutions from creation to live production support. This role can function remotely. #LI-Remote

In this role you will get to:

  • You will work closely with engineering scrum team(s) to ensure the technical details of the integrations are carried out to meet the service level agreements (SLA) around performance, reliability, and monitorability.

  • You will monitor core platform integrations and develop automated management processes using Datadog.

  • You will research integration failures, perform root cause analysis, and report back to management and business leaders.

  • You will provide expertise and support for ongoing operations of existing systems, including problem resolution, and instituting preventative measures.

  • You will monitor and support RESTful API integration technologies including Ellucian Ethos and MuleSoft which integrate disparate platforms and systems such as Colleague, Banner, Brightspace, and Salesforce.

  • You will collaborate on plans to reduce and avoid future system issues.

  • You will report on stability and scalability within the Integration team.

  • You will maintain the development environments, development tools, and software solutions used by the scrum teams.

  • You will safeguard system access and security and support system and change audits.

  • You will maintain the operability of the development/test environment(s) and ensure they meet SecOps best practices.

  • You will participate in ensuring applications pass SecOps secure coding practices (using Sonarqube)

  • You will manage continuous learning consistent with changes in technology and use this to recommend and influence future direction with these technologies.

  • You will work in an Agile environment with highly collaborative scrum teams.

  • You will participate in Scrum ceremonies including Stand-Up, Refinement, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives.

  • You will collaborate with business partners and leadership to provide diagnostic and debugging support for high-volume production systems, providing timely fixes when required.

  • You will review partner requirements, analyze functional requirements, and recommend monitoring best practices.

We would like to see:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or similar field with 5+ years' experience in operations support.

  • Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable with 7+ years of applicable experience within Software Operation Support.

Additional experience we would like to see:

  • Experience with Datadog and Splunk platforms.

  • Experience with platform architecture (at a high-level), API documentation, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Experience monitoring and supporting RESTful web services and solutions in C# and .NET.

  • Understanding of supporting enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure.

  • In-depth experience with higher education software products including Banner, Colleague, Brightspace, and Salesforce.

  • Experience with Ellucian Ethos Data Model (EEDM) data representation and utilization.

  • Experience monitoring and supporting solutions built with MuleSoft (v4.x+) and Anypoint Studio, including Dataweave2.0 and XML.

  • Familiarity with automation tools.

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience working in a Microsoft Azure Environment.

  • Experience with common data transfer protocols including JSON and XML.

  • Experience with relational database (RDMS) concepts.

  • Experience with modern source control systems, particularly Git and Azure DevOps.

  • Experience with Agile Framework (Kanban/Scrum/Safe).

  • Experience working with frequently shifting priorities, changing requirements, and adapting to competing business needs.

  • Able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Learning mindset with ability to keep up with new business and technical concepts.

  • A strong logic mindset and attention to detail
