The Opportunity

As the Associate Dean, Academic Effectiveness you will support the operational needs, strategic direction and plans of Southern New Hampshire University's Global Campus (GC). The Associate Dean reports to the Sr. Associate Dean of Academic Effectiveness. You will have knowledge of the assigned academic unit and will help implement projects by bringing to bear their knowledge, strengths and skills, while ensuring the daily health of academic operations and programs.

You will be well-versed in performance management processes, engaging and supporting adjunct faculty, student success factors, cross team collaboration and other success metrics. In addition to being well-informed about higher education administration and learning models, you will engage with SNHU leadership on how to create operational excellence as we move toward the next evolution of higher education learning environments.

You will ensure the continuous improvement process and work in close collaboration with other Associate Deans as their primary team, and with other partners throughout the organization.

In this role, You'll Get To:

  • Participate in long-term, short-term, or special projects based on our needs, using your strengths
  • Collaborate in and support program, course, competency, and content development efforts in collaboration with the Learning science and assessment (LSA) team
  • Help maintain successful programs and curriculum through data capture and sharing and by engagement with partners
  • Lead collaborative efforts across departments to support learner, faculty, and graduate success, and resolve issues
  • Support program growth in collaboration with internal departments (including University Campus and Workforce Partnerships), and external partners
  • Contribute to faculty and Subject Matter Expert (SME) recruitment, hiring, management and professional development process
  • Lead coaching, mentoring, and remediation efforts to support ensuring adjunct faculty excellence
  • Collaborate with the Center for Online Learning and Teaching (COLT) to support the faculty evaluation process
  • Promote learner success and quality within designated programs, courses, and content through data analysis and application
  • Participate in solution-building for student-related issues such as disputes, appeals, learning environment, and conduct in collaboration with other departments
  • Implement and support approved projects that support learner and faculty engagement, program and course quality, learner success, and learner experience
  • Help design new learning models that are flexible and scalable to support the needs of tomorrow's learners and address important issues such as affordability, access, and speed to completion
  • Participate in efforts to improve and use LMS functionality to provide learner and faculty experience
  • Collaborate to implement improvements in processes to increase automation, improve data and reporting, ability to grow, reduce cost, and better support collaboration between partners
  • Use data and help implement systems to provide improved learner and faculty support
  • Engage with departments including Center for Online Learning and Teaching (COLT), Faculty Recruiting, Learning Science and Assessment, and Human Resources, to improve faculty recruiting, training, evaluation, and community-building practices to ensure the most effective learner-facing experience
  • Promote our high-performing culture that focuses on the learner and values our people
