The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University’s Graduate Education Programs Department is seeking a Student Graduate Assistant to support projects across all three of our department’s pillars - including but not limited to Doctoral Programming, Initial and Advanced Licensure M.Ed. & CAGS programming, and Partnership and Non-Licensure M.Ed. and CAGS Programming, as well as Professional Development Non-Degree Programming.

In collaboration with the Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, and Directors and Assistant Directors across all three pillars of GEP, the graduate assistant will deliver support for ongoing projects, develop and maintain internal academic data, and collaborate as a team to support all project needs.

This position is open to all campus based full-time graduate students and is an opportunity for students interested in the field of education and project management. The GA will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the field of education and grow as a student and professional. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; oral and written communication skills; adaptability and flexibility, and be a self-starter. Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team on a regular basis and have a willingness to jump in and take on additional projects as needed.

This position is a mixture of remote work and in-person work on campus as needed, including but not limited to in-person work on campus for the Doctoral weekends once per month, and the one-week residency in the summer, as well as a minimum of weekly check-ins on campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and execute day-to-day project and research needs across all three pillars of the GEP department.
  • Assist with the organization, management, and facilitation of the monthly Doctoral Class Weekends and the one-week residency in the summer.
  • Develop, design, and prepare distribution outreach and informative materials including video, print, and digital assets to a variety of audiences across all three pillars.
  • Report on sensitive and confidential program data while upholding all FERPA guidelines.
  • Organize, scan, and archive files and records across all three GEP pillars.
  • Collect and mail printed dissertations and copywrite materials, as well as any other mailings needed across all three GEP pillars.
  • Assist with Brightspace courses and organizations in all three GEP pillars.
  • Assisting the GEP Academic Operations/Student Support team needs with answering phones, emails, and student registrations at certain times a year when there is high demand.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Enrollment in a full-time graduate program at SNHU.
  • Proficient using videoconferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and the Microsoft Office Suite including TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently/with limited supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
