The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University’s traditional campus is seeking an Intramural Supervisor to work for the Campus Recreation department. This position will oversee intramural officials and assist the Competitive Sports Coordinator. This position must also implement Intramural Sports policies and playing rules in order to maintain an appropriate level of control, fairness, and safety. This position is a great way for students to learn management styles and build relationships with students and staff in an athletic setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee pre and post-game logistics and administrative functions.
- Provide a competitive, fun, and safe environment by knowing and enforcing rules and regulations according to the Intramural policy handbook and sports rules book.
- Provide feedback to intramural officials.
- Enforce sportsmanship of intramural teams and participants.
- Employ strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills while making quick decisions with confidence and using correct mechanics.
- Assist the Competitive Sports Coordinator with necessary tasks including but not limited to: office tasks, weekly check-ins, IMLeagues administration, accident/incident reports, and intramural participant management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day program at SNHU
- Experience in intramural sports
- Willingness to continue training and improve skills
- Confidence in abilities to make decisions
- Positive attitude while working in a fast environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- CPR/AED Certified
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Experience in athletics
Work Hours:
Monday – Saturday between 10:00 am and 12:00 am. Total number of hours per week not to exceed 20.
