The opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will analyze the University’s general ledger accounts on a monthly basis recommending, preparing, and recording journal entries. You will independently perform complex professional accounting responsibilities, including the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

What you'll do:

  • Perform month-end close process including the accounting, analysis, and reporting functions
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for operational balance sheet accounts
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations for the University’s non-student bank accounts
  • Analyze accounting data to resolve discrepancies throughout the reconciliation process
  • Develop financial reports and analysis
  • Prepare journal entries for accurate and complete reporting following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Help prepare schedules and gathering of support for the external auditors
  • Maintain the Financial Accounting & Reporting ServiceNow Portal and team email inbox

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Two years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting processes, procedure, and internal controls
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
