The opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will analyze the University’s general ledger accounts on a monthly basis recommending, preparing, and recording journal entries. You will independently perform complex professional accounting responsibilities, including the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
What you'll do:
- Perform month-end close process including the accounting, analysis, and reporting functions
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for operational balance sheet accounts
- Perform daily cash reconciliations for the University’s non-student bank accounts
- Analyze accounting data to resolve discrepancies throughout the reconciliation process
- Develop financial reports and analysis
- Prepare journal entries for accurate and complete reporting following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Help prepare schedules and gathering of support for the external auditors
- Maintain the Financial Accounting & Reporting ServiceNow Portal and team email inbox
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field.
- Two years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting processes, procedure, and internal controls
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
