The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Assistant to Program Director for Breakthrough Manchester. Breakthrough is an intensive, year-round academic enrichment program for promising middle school students. This position is responsible for managing and supporting various aspects of this non-profit educational organizations. The person who fills this position will receive significant training and support and is expected to become autonomous in successfully achieving duties. Applicants must qualify for Federal Work-Study as part of the financial aid offer.
Primary Duties:
Assist with clerical duties
Management of confidential data and academic information
Special event planning and preparation
Assist with teacher training events and program sessions
leading or collaborating on administrative and communications projects
supporting logistical aspects of once-per-month Saturday programming
Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment in a degree program at SNHU
Work-Study as part of the financial aid package
Ability to work effectively in many different environments with people from diverse backgrounds (ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, professional, generational)
Excellent writing and communication skills
Creativity, enthusiasm and resilience
Proficiency with various computer and web-based systems including Google applications and databases
Must be a team player and consistently exhibit the following qualities:
Strong evidence of commitment and loyalty to the program’s vision and mission
Trustworthiness and the ability to fully trust other team members and superiors
Communication skills to address conflicts in a timely and professional manner
Ownership and accountability for work and mistakes

Hours:
Breakthrough operates Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, with some exceptions. The ideal candidate is ready to commit approximately 10 hours per week for the school year (excluding school vacations) and is willing to work some evenings and/or Saturdays.
