The opportunity

Student Involvement Staff Assistants provide high-quality customer service to the Southern New Hampshire University community. Primary duties include monitoring shared department inboxes, responding to student inquiries, and forwarding all correspondence into the university’s customer relationship management tool (Unify). In addition, the Staff Assistants may answer calls, assist students and staff, file, and schedule meetings.

Staff Assistants – whether on campus or remote -- must, on occasion, be willing to work flexible hours, late nights, and weekends. Student employees are essential in building community and supporting peers to find a sense of belonging at SNHU. This OSI Staff Assistant will specifically work with the Assistant Director of Online Honor Societies and complete tasks that are aligned with within the online honor society space.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring/managing shared department inboxes
  • Forwarding all correspondence into the university’s customer relationship management tool (Unify) and closing out the case in Unify.
  • Greet visitors to the office (campus) or SNHUconnect (online), assisting with requests and questions.
  • Assist with clerical duties which includes answering online honor society questions both via email and phone, data input, filing, sorting honor society regalia, attending to the SNHUconnect honor society pages, etc.
  • Assist with large departmental projects and programs throughout the year, including Honor Society Recruitment Cycles, Honor Society Recognition Ceremony, Opening Weekend, Involvement/Engagement Fairs, Fall Leadership Conference, Homecoming Weekend, LEADS Conference, Penmen Pursuits Awards, Leadership Awards, and Orientation
  • Must be able to lift/carry approx. 25lbs. Campus driver approval will also be needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Collaborates/works alongside the Assistant Director of Online Honor Societies, performing other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain a positive attitude during all shifts and be a role model for peers
  • Arrive at all shifts on-time and stay until the end of the shift
  • Wear appropriately designated and provided attire (campus)
  • Create and support an inclusive community
  • Attend monthly staff meeting with supervisor and employee appreciation events

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be an enrolled student
  • This position is available for Work Study students only
