The opportunity

Copies Plus student staff provide high-quality customer service to the Southern New Hampshire University community. General duties include copying, laminating, printing posters, binding, balloon filling and various other print-related tasks. Copies Plus staff also provide support for the more than sixty clubs and organizations, facilitating the use of club storage, and monitoring equipment reservation requests.

Employees must be willing to work flexible hours, late nights and weekends. This position also supports the Office of Student Involvement in general, and employees may participate in special projects as assigned. Our student employees are essential in helping us build community and support others finding a sense of belonging at SNHU. We look to hire students who demonstrate integrity, which are paramount to the operations of Copies Plus.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and demonstrate safe operation of the following equipment and tools, (training will be provided): large format printer, fax machine, high volume printer, laminator, book binder, helium tank, paper cutter, etc.
  • Troubleshoot all equipment including clearing copier paper jams, changing ink cartridges and toner, and occasionally communicating technical issues to technical support.
  • Operate the point of sales system for individual, club and department purchases, handle a cash drawer of $50.
  • Ensure all orders are printed in advance of deadlines and that they meet the quality expected by our customers.
  • Make recommendations to customers on which products will suite their needs.
  • Track and monitor all equipment reservations using Microsoft Outlook and/or PowerApps.
  • Provide access to, and organization for, club storage space.
  • Assist with clerical duties including answering the telephone, sorting mail, e-mailing clubs, data input, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Provide world class customer service.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in difficult situations with little supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude during all shifts and be a role model for colleagues.
  • Arrive at all shifts on-time and stay until the end of the shift.
  • Wear appropriately designated and provided attire.
  • Computer, technical or graphic design experience is a plus.
  • Attend all monthly staff meetings and employee appreciation events.
  • Must be committed to creating and supporting an inclusive community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time enrolled student in an Undergraduate Day or Graduate Day Program
  • Work study as part of financial aid package
  • Students with Federal Work Study may be prioritized
  • Must be able to climb stairs, sit, stoop, walk and carry 50 lbs. as needed.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
