The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a student employee to fill the role of Service Coordinator for our Campus location in The Chandler Center. This position will provide office support to the Center by welcoming guests, answering telephone and email as well as act as liaison between the Center and non-profit community organizations. Students will coordinate community service projects as well as provide onsite guidance and support to student service-learners at the community non-profit organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain positive relationships with community-based non-profit organizations
- Ensure student volunteers are educated on community issues and engaged in service
- Maintain accurate records of student service attendance and participation
- Provide office support to The Chandler Center (answering phones, assisting visitors, etc.)
- Attend and participate in bi-weekly Monday evening staff meetings
- Accurately enter data into The Chandler Center databases in a timely manner
- Represent the Center with professionalism and an understanding of the work we do
- Drive and transport volunteers with the Center minivans as needed
- Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day program at SNHU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Community Service and Civic Engagement
- Strong interest in developing leadership skills
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Qualtrics, Canva
Flexible including weekdays, early evenings and weekends (approximately 12 hours per week)
- Understand and exhibit exemplary work ethic, demonstrating punctuality, dependability, effective time management, and the ability to set and achieve professional goals.
- Cultivate critical thinking skills, allowing you to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision and make informed decisions in various work situations.
- Gain confidence in professional communication, including proper telephone etiquette, concise and accurate email correspondence, and effective interaction with Center visitors.
- Acquire skills in planning, promoting, and managing events, engaging others in the process.
- Develop an awareness of the diversity within the greater Manchester community and the non-profit groups served, alongside building your own definition of active citizenship and understanding your role in contributing positively to the community.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
