The opportunity
Advising Ambassadors represent the Academic Advising Office and provide support and information to best direct all visitors to the office. Ideal candidates will be warm and welcoming and willing to support all student, staff, and visitors to appropriate campus resources. Advising Ambassadors will fully support and model the Academic Advising Office vision of educating and empowering students.
Ideal candidates will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills; oral and written communication skills; and student leadership experience. Candidates must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team on a regular basis and have a willingness to jump in and take on additional projects as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome all visitors to the Undergraduate Academic Advising Office
- Serve as primary point of contact for the Academic Advising Office, providing support for students, staff, and visitors. This may include:
- Triage student, staff, and visitor questions/concerns and direct to appropriate campus resources and offices
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Take messages, transfer calls to suite staff and other departments
- Schedule and manage appointments for 17 professional staff members
- Complete daily office tasks, Such as:
- Sort/distribute incoming mail
- Supply/re-stock copies of student handouts
- Clean/organize shared/open space in office
- Attend all staff, team, and 1:1 meetings
- Work with professional staff on projects
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU Undergraduate degree program
- Work study part of financial aid package
- Students with Federal Work Study may be prioritized
- Must possess excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Individuals that enjoy teaching and working with others
- Willing to work collaboratively with others and be flexible regarding assigned tasks
- Ability to maintain privacy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in customer service or an office environment is preferred but not necessary
- Professional demeanor
Work Hours:
- Monday-Friday between 8am and 4:30pm.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
