The opportunity
As the Associate Dean for Global Initiatives, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of our academic programs within Southern New Hampshire University's Global Initiatives Team. Your broad knowledge of the assigned academic unit, combined with your understanding of the needs, strengths, challenges, and solutions, will be essential in supporting the health and success of our programs and students.
You will ensure alignment with the mission and goals of our university, engaging with SNHU leadership to lead the next evolution of higher education learning environments. What you'll do:
- Work across the organization to identify strategies, needs, and impacts with new programs and innovations.
- Collaborate to support the implementation of processes associated with SNHU strategic and operational commitments and goals.
- Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation toward the goal of supporting and prioritizing strategic initiatives and project requests.
- Help establish standard operating procedures for programs and innovations with university departments.
- Ensure that program outcomes and courses are high quality and are appropriately rigorous.
- Participate in best-practices that provide an excellent student experience, toward the goal of improving student success and satisfaction.
- Oversee and approve selection of subject matter experts for program development and in support of innovative initiatives.
- Coordinate efforts with Faculty Recruiting and the Center for Online Learning and Teaching (COLT) to provide faculty training and evaluation toward the goal of hiring and maintaining a pool of faculty.
- Ensure that designated programs meet programmatic and NECHE regional accreditation standards.
- Analyze and interpret data that informs decision-making to support program health and success.
- Ensure communication of initiatives, expectations, goals etc. to the appropriate partners.
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to create the interconnectedness of teams toward the goal of building a focused organization.
- Connect with partners throughout the organization to ensure smooth implementation and to establish standard operating procedures for new programs and innovations.
- Manage, and support motivated teams of academic and support staff.
- Triage issues to the appropriate team members.
- Create a culture of support, success, and results on respective teams that is aligned to the SNHU culture.
- Provide professional development for team members that support their individual and institutional goals
- Ensure role clarity, change resilience, success-mindedness, and role-mastery among team members.
- Work with project teams to build capacity through focus on value-add activities, reduction of process "waste" and reducing process variation.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential functions of this role.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
What we're looking for:
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Master's degree required
- Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable: Yes X No
- Have subject matter expertise across academic disciplines
- Experience working in online program curriculum and development.
- Understanding of making data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership over large, complex projects and change management.
- Knowledge in implementing processes for improvement.
- Understanding of the higher education environment, the basics of learning science, key business drivers in higher education and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated skill at anticipating long-term impacts of actions.
- Ability to apply knowledge and experience to the broader environment.

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $80,651.00 - $129,068.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $89,121.00 - $120,575.00.
