The opportunity

The Strength and Conditioning Coach implements a comprehensive strength and conditioning program that addresses the needs of all athletes. Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations, you will manage a 5,200 square foot Strength and Conditioning Center. You will collaborate with teams to enhance athletes' physical abilities while supervising student employees and a part-time Assistant Strength Coach.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with all varsity teams and coaches to develop training programs.
  • Assess athletic performance in strength, power, and sport-specific conditioning.
  • Instruct proper lifting techniques, plyometric, and sprint development.
  • Design seasonal workout plans for student athletes (Any work product developed for teams or individual athletes would be considered property of SNHU).
  • Coordinate with athletic trainers on injury prevention and return-to-play.
  • Manage budget for purchase/maintenance of fitness equipment.
  • Maintain proper certifications and follow NCAA Division II/NE-10 rules
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing strength and conditioning programs.
  • 1+ years of supervisory and staff/student development experience.
  • Relevant certification from at least one of the following: CSCS (NSCA), USAW, AFAA, ACSM, or NSCA.
  • Current First Aid/CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a safe strength and conditioning program through proper equipment use and risk management.
  • Experience identify challenges, evaluating alternative solutions, and making well-informed, equitable decisions.
  • A valid driver's license.

This position follows an academic calendar and is active for 10 months out of the year, from August 15th to June 15th.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $50,105.00 - $80,184.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $55,366.00 - $74,908.00.
