The opportunity

As the Senior Associate Dean (Senior AD), you will be a full-time member of university staff responsible for providing operational leadership and strategic support for building STEM program-related programs of Southern New Hampshire University's online Global Campus (GC). You'll support and develop an academic team of Associate Deans, faculty, and other academic program team members, creates collaboration, and oversees the daily operations of an assigned academic program portfolio. You will oversee resource planning and allocation, quality, and operational performance and identify and guide opportunities for improvement. You will report to the Executive Director.

You will have a general knowledge of STEM disciplines and can guide the implementation of strategic plans through their knowledge, strengths, and skills, while supporting the long-term health of academic programs. You'll facilitate cross-functional team support and guide opportunities to increase operational efficiency.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and support a team of academic staff by implementing practices that foster the development of motivated and high-functioning teams that embody SNHU's core values of putting people first, engaging in continuous learning, promoting equity, setting the right pace, and embracing collaboration.
  • Collaborate to help implement projects associated with SNHU strategic and operational commitments and goals.
  • Contribute to capacity planning and resource allocation toward the goal of supporting and prioritizing projects.
  • Manage projects to assure the achievement of important benchmarks and performance indicators.
  • Ensure that assigned programs meet programmatic and institutional accreditation standards and institutional policies and governance requirements.
  • Liase between the respective academic unit and other appropriate SNHU departments including Admissions, Academic Advising, Career Services, International Programs, and University Partnerships to ensure strategic goals are met.
  • Identify strategies, needs, and impacts of new programs and innovations.
  • Conduct environmental scanning and research in collaboration with internal and external partners to identify trends and inform actions to increase overall STEM portfolio success.

What we're looking for:

  • Earned doctorate degree in any discipline coupled with an earned Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence from an accredited higher education institution
  • 5+ years of related experience working in a similar administrative role in higher education, including at least 3 years of experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Experience in the successful administration of online degree programs
  • Knowledge of environmental forces within the higher education environment and within the field of Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Understanding of the main reasons for student success and institutional performance in higher education
  • Attendance at events such as graduation ceremonies in New Hampshire is required.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $88,726.00 - $141,987.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $98,042.00 - $132,644.00.
