The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a student employee to support the Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) with operational projects and tasks. The Communications Operations Assistant will assist with inbox management, data reporting, research, content development/management, project management, writing, and general communications support.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Inbox Management: Respond to student inquiries about university-verified achievements and SNHU’s student success platform, Merit.
- Data Reporting: Pull engagement metrics for OEAC social media accounts and assist with media coverage reports.
- Research: Help inform OEAC’s social media strategies by researching trends and pulling benchmarking data.
- Content Development/Management: Build content in Salesforce Marketing Cloud for scheduled communications, draft social media content, upload content to OEAC’s YouTube and WordPress accounts, provide writing and copy-editing support, and assist with content management for SNHU TV.
- Project Management: Monitor and manage student worker tasks using OEAC's project management software, Wrike.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program.
- Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a degree or concentration in Communication, Marketing, Project Management, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
Work Hours:
- The team’s typical office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm, with coverage for events on nights and weekends as needed. Hours for this position will not exceed 20 hours per week, and the schedule will be set with the supervisor week to week, based on the needs of the department.
- Approximately 10 hours per week to be completed on-site at SNHU offices on campus or in downtown Manchester.
- Flexibility to complete remaining hours remotely.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
