The opportunity

Use advanced knowledge of data science and analysis to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries that lead to process improvements and analytical solutions. This role is considered a subject matter expert in the field, uses extensive latitude to conduct highly complex work and delivers solutions that are critical for the university. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
  • Recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
  • Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
  • Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.
  • Conduct highly complex work, unsupervised or with limited supervision, with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and deliverables. Explain analysis and model results to stakeholders.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and five (5) years of relevant experience. Total experience must include four (4) years of experience with:

  • Data Science;
  • Python and SQL;
  • Developing advanced data science models; and
  • Building and managing end-to-end learning solutions.

Telecommuting possible.

Compensation

The anticipated pay for this position is $142,000.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
