The opportunity

This position is primarily responsible for the Management of Student Staff, Training, and Operations of Copies Plus. Copies Plus is SNHU’s student-run print shop on campus. Student employees provide high-quality customer service to the SNHU community. General duties include copying, laminating, printing posters, binding, and various other print-related tasks. Employees must be willing to work flexible hours. Some basic graphic design knowledge is helpful but not required. This position also supports the Student Center in general, and employees may participate in various special projects as assigned.

Copies Plus Manager Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Student Center trainings and monthly manager meetings to enhance leadership and operational knowledge.

  • Assist in the supervision, hiring, training, and evaluation of Copies Plus staff to build a supportive, high-performing team.

  • Help plan and implement Fall Training and onboarding to ensure staff are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed for success.

  • Serve as a consistent and open line of communication between Copies Plus staff and the Office of Student Involvement.

  • Schedule and facilitate regular staff meetings to promote information sharing, clarify expectations, and foster team cohesion.

  • Seek and coordinate additional training opportunities to support staff growth and service excellence throughout the academic year.

  • Review and maintain the written manual for all operational procedures and policies, identifying updates or improvements as needed.

  • Assist in developing and implementing solutions to improve service delivery and staff efficiency.

  • Ensure that all staff training and communication practices support an inclusive and respectful workplace environment.

  • Provide fair and transparent supervision and evaluation practices for all student staff.

  • Ensure cleanliness and ongoing maintenance of all Copies Plus equipment to uphold operational standards.

  • Complete cash report forms and ensure timely reconciliation and deposits.

  • Collaborate with the Student Involvement Coordinator and other campus departments to provide accurate monthly billing records for club and department use.

  • Coordinate staff scheduling to ensure balanced coverage and accountability.

  • Maintain familiarity with and oversee the proper use of all equipment and technology used in day-to-day operations.

General Job Responsibilities:

  • Keep inventory that all supplies are maintained and stocked in Copies Plus.

  • Work with campus clubs, organizations, departments, and outside customers to ensure printed projects are made by their deadlines.

  • Keep records of all work orders received.

  • Operate the cash register including cash sales and department sales.

  • Responsible and accountable for recording all monies transacted in Copies Plus.

  • Troubleshoot all equipment including clearing copier paper jams, changing ink cartridges and toner, and occasionally communicating technical issues to technical support.

  • Cuts, binds, and packages finished printed materials for pick-up.

  • Ensure the accurate processing of orders.

  • Understand and operate the following equipment, training will be given on the job:

    • Black and White Copier

    • Large format Printer

    • iMac Computers

    • Laminator

    • Book binding

    • Additional equipment as needed

  • Utilize computer software to communicate with staff and prioritize print jobs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Expectations & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous service experience.

  • As a representative of the Office of Student Involvement, must be able to effectively and courteously interact with students, staff, faculty, and visitors to the Robert A. Freese Student Center.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in difficult situations with little supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle events and tasks as they occur.

  • Attend Staff Meetings as scheduled

Minimum Qualifications:

University Paid or Work Study Position Requirement, must be a Full-Time enrolled student in an Undergraduate Day or Graduate Day Program. Students with Work Study may be prioritized.

Work Hours:

Copies Plus is open from 9am – 7:00pm Monday-Friday and the manager will be expected to work between 10-20 hours a week. Not all hours will have to fall within regularly scheduled shifts, and flexibility is available based on Manager duties.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
