The opportunity
The Campus Academic Operations and Lab Operations group at Southern New Hampshire University, a vibrant learning community and a progressive and growing university with its campus located in Manchester, New Hampshire, is looking for a Science Laboratory Manager to support faculty in the management of the Chemistry, Life Science, and Biological Science Labs, and to teach labs in Chemistry to undergraduates majoring in multiple science and engineering programs. This is an in-person position, and will report to the Assistant Dean of the School or Arts, Sciences, and Education.
What you'll do:
- Teach laboratories in general chemistry for students majoring in biology, environmental science, and engineering.
- Safely maintain Biosafety level 1 and 2 labs
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules, including coordinating repairs, maintaining Lab inventory, and requests for purchases
- Support faculty and General Chemistry I and II curriculum, and potentially Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, General Biology, cell culture or other labs
- Oversee the chemistry laboratory set up, instruction, and break down
- Manage the Chemistry and Life Science labs, including inventory and ordering of durable and expendable equipment
- Facilitate all aspects of Lab training. This includes assisting students and faculty on use of the equipment, tools, and other items available in the Lab, and training part-time staff to do so the same
- Plan science laboratory budget
- Maintain hygiene and safety plans for the Chemistry and Life Science, and Biological Science, Labs
- Manage part-time lab support staff and student workers
- Other administrative tasks to support the Department Chair
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of experience teaching Chemistry Laboratory courses at the higher education level
- Master's degree in chemistry or related science field

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $51,608.00 - $82,590.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $57,027.00 - $77,155.00.
