The opportunity
As the Executive Director for Competency-Based Education you will be a full-time member of university staff providing strategic national leadership for Southern New Hampshire University's Competency-Based Education programs.
You are responsible for program quality, growth and success. Well-informed about higher education administration and learning models, you will engage with SNHU leadership as to how best to move towards the next evolution of higher education learning environments.
You will serve a team of academic staff, which includes Senior Associate Deans, Associate Deans and adjunct faculty nationally, reporting to the Associate Vice President of the program(s).
What you'll do:
- Set vision, strategy, and overarching goals, while developing action plans that foster the development of motivated, effective, and high-functioning teams.
- Lead projects that ensure high-quality programs are developed to support student learning, and effectively allowing graduates to achieve the stated program, course and employment outcomes.
- Develop and implement programs that improve student satisfaction and engagement, the student experience, and student learning, understanding that these are major drivers of student success and student retention.
- Help resolve academic grievances or student issues.
- Build a culture within online programs that supports the systematic application of data-driven decision-making toward the end of improving student success, faculty performance, and institutional effectiveness.
- Critically assess the quality and integrity of academic programs to ensure their compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and internal requirements, and with professional expectations for graduates in the respective fields.
- Support the professional development opportunities for your team, ensuring their ongoing effectiveness, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Maintain a national presence within higher education.

What we're looking for:
- An earned terminal degree in a related field.
- At least 7 years of related experience working in a similar administrative role, including at least 5 years of experience leading a team of direct reports
- Experience in the successful administration of online degree programs
- Experience working in competency-based education and evolving learning models.
- Substantial budget management and project management
- Experience with curriculum development and outcomes assessment.
- Experience working with accreditation organizations
- Broad experience across diverse areas within a college or university

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $113,908.00 - $182,287.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $125,868.00 - $170,293.00.Exceptional benefits (because you’re exceptional)
