The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Mail Clerk during the summer months. The Mail Clerk will support the mailroom with administrative tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn and perform the campus mail run twice daily.

  • Sort and distribute mail, packages, and interoffice mail to designated locations.

  • Sort incoming student mail by students assigned mailbox

  • Forward incoming mail as necessary.

  • Process receipt and distribution of incoming and outgoing package.

  • Perform regular audits of PitneyBowes to ensure data accuracy of package inventory records.

  • Assist customers with any shipping inquiries, process outgoing shipping labels, and package contents appropriately (must meet USPS regulations).

  • Complete the USPS daily pick-ups and drop-offs.

  • Respond to University Switch Board, direct incoming calls to the appropriate channels.

  • Process outing University mail with accuracy, ensure that all international mail is processed with the required documentation.

  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work independently in high level situations with attention to detail.

  • Maintain a positive attitude create an inclusive environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, strong solve problems skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to lift/ carry 40-50 pounds.

  • Must have valid Driver’s License and pass Driver’s Safety Course.

  • Must qualify for work study.

Work Schedule:

  • 6-10hrs weekly.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
