The opportunity
Job Summary
The School of Arts, Sciences, and Education is seeking a student employee to fill General Biology and Chemistry Lab Assistant role for the fall semester. The lab assistant will work with faculty members to help set up and take down of the biology and chemistry labs weekly. This is a part-time, hourly position.
Job Responsibilities
- Taking inventory of lab equipment and consumables. Restocking supplies as needed and reporting to instructors when inventory is low
- Setting up equipment for weekly laboratory exercises.
- Prepping chemical reagents and biological specimens as needed for weekly laboratory exercise.
- Cleaning of glassware and take-down of equipment after laboratory exercises.
- Disposing of waste generated during labs.
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace
Minimum Qualifications
- Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate degree at SNHU
- Work study part of financial aid package
- Students with work study may be prioritized
- Completion of relevant course work in the subject area (General Biology and Chemistry). Microbiology lab experience, preferred
- Availability on Monday and/or Tuesday is a must, but will have hours on other days based on agreed upon schedule

Work Schedule
- Monday and/or Tuesday availability is a must
- Responsibilities and work will support labs that are held Monday - Friday

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
