Project Overview:
The inclusive business (IB) project of iFarmer- Breaking Barriers for Women in Agriculture, is funded by the Innovations Against Poverty (IAP) challenge fund of SNV Netherlands Development Organization, seeks to enhance agricultural productivity, strengthen farmers’ livelihoods, and promote sustainable farming practices. The project will support smallholder women farmers through capacity building, technical assistance, and digital solutions. Its proposed business model is designed to ensure that marginalized women farmers in Bangladesh gain access to formal financial services, receive quality agricultural inputs, benefit from tailored farming advice, and improve their access to markets. By actively engaging women in sustainable agricultural practices, the initiative aims to foster resilience and enable them to build a more secure and sustainable future.
Responsibilities:
Provide overall supervision and coordination of field-level project activities to ensure timely and effective implementation.
Support capacity development initiatives for staff, women farmers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Facilitate the delivery of targeted services and awareness activities to promote women’s participation in agriculture.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure farmers receive access to advisory services, financial products, and agricultural inputs.
Support budget management and ensure compliance with financial and reporting requirements.
Maintain coordination with government agencies, private-sector partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
Assist in monitoring project progress, documentation, and preparation of periodic reports.
Contribute to planning, implementation, and monitoring of project work plans and deliverables.
Support data collection, monitoring, and reporting to track project performance and outcomes.
Educational Qualifications
Master’s degree focusing on agricultural science, agribusiness, business studies, marketing, rural development, or related field from any well-regarded university.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in implementing agriculture, rural development, or women empowerment projects within GO-NGOs, or the private sector.
Proven ability to prepare high-quality technical manuals, project progress reports, and case studies.
Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programs for farmers, field staff, and other stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, value chain development, rural livelihoods, gender dynamics, women empowerment, and financial inclusion.
Experience in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation (M&E).
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret field data and prepare clear analytical reports.
Good understanding of community-based approaches and participatory methods.
Additional Requirements
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel frequently to field locations as required.
Strong proficiency in both English and Bengali, with the ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation in both languages.
