Job Overview:
iFarmer is seeking a detail-oriented and diligent Regulatory Affairs professional to join the Agri Input Operations team at its Head Office, with a primary focus on pesticide licensing and registration. The incumbent will be responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and renewing the product registrations, licences, and permits required to import, trade, and distribute pesticides in Bangladesh, and for ensuring that iFarmer's crop protection portfolio remains fully compliant with the Pesticide Act 2018, the Pesticide Rules, and related government requirements. The role serves as the primary link between iFarmer, its suppliers, and the Plant Protection Wing of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) and other relevant authorities.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pesticide Product Registration
Prepare, compile, and submit registration dossiers for new pesticide products, and manage renewals and amendments of existing registrations with the Plant Protection Wing, DAE.
Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and principals to obtain technical and legal documents such as product specifications, certificates of analysis, safety data sheets, letters of authorization, and free sale certificates.
Arrange and follow up on bio-efficacy trials, residue and toxicological data, and other technical evaluations required for registration, in coordination with the relevant technical committees and research institutions.
Ensure that product labels, packaging, and leaflets are prepared and approved in line with regulatory requirements.
Licensing & Permits
Manage the application, renewal, and timely maintenance of pesticide import, dealership, and trading licences and any other permits required for iFarmer's operations.
Prepare and process import permissions and related documentation for pesticide consignments, and coordinate with Procurement, Supply Chain, and the clearing and forwarding team to avoid clearance delays.
Maintain an up-to-date tracker of all pesticide registrations, licences, and permits, with validity dates and advance renewal alerts.
Regulatory Compliance
Monitor changes in pesticide-related laws, rules, notifications, bans, and government circulars, and assess their impact on iFarmer's product portfolio and sourcing plans.
Ensure that import, storage, handling, distribution, and sale of pesticides conform to regulatory and safety requirements.
Support internal compliance reviews and prepare for inspections and audits by regulatory authorities.
Stakeholder Liaison, Documentation & Reporting
Build and maintain professional relationships with DAE offices and other government bodies, and follow up on the status of applications and approvals.
Provide regulatory guidance to Procurement, Sales, and Legal teams on new product introductions and sourcing decisions.
Maintain well-organized regulatory files and a centralized document repository for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
Prepare regular status reports on registrations, licenses, renewals, and compliance risks for management review.
Perform any other related duties assigned by the management from time to time.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Executive: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. Senior Executive: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience in pesticide registration, licensing, or regulatory compliance in Bangladesh is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of the Pesticide Act 2018 and Rules, and of the procedures of the Plant Protection Wing, DAE, will be a strong advantage.
Candidates with a strong technical background in crop protection and a genuine interest in regulatory work may be considered for the Executive level.
