Ignitia AB is seeking a Regional Business Development Manager to lead sales efforts in East Africa for our agrotech environmental services company. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth by expanding awareness of our unique weather model to small-scale farmers in the region. Our highly accurate weather forecasts are delivered via SMS in partnership with major telecom companies, helping farmers predict water availability and optimize food production. As a company rooted in social enterprise, we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. As Regional Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead this impact in East Africa by building partnership with international seed and fertiliser companies, FMCG, agricultural distribution companies, offtakers, and other sourcing companies looking for higher quality of supply.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand our customer base in East Africa
  • Build and manage relationships with partners and stakeholders in the region
  • Monitor and report on sales metrics to track progress towards goals
  • Manage a team of sales representatives in the region
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and product development to ensure alignment on strategy
  • Represent Ignitia AB at industry events and conferences in the region

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, agriculture, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in sales or business development
  • Proven track record of driving growth and meeting sales targets
  • Experience managing a team of sales representatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Passion for making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
