About the Role
The Logistics Officer will support Imagine's mission to scale tablet-based learning solutions that enable children in Sierra Leone to become literate and numerate. Working under the supervision of the Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will assist in executing day-to-day logistics operations including customs documentation, inventory tracking, distribution coordination, and warehouse management. The candidate will join a highly committed and collaborative team that is working together to empower every child to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities
The Logistics Officer will work closely with the Logistics Manager and local implementing partners to support logistics operations and inventory control across all sites in Sierra Leone. The Officer will assist in managing shipments, tracking inventory, coordinating distributions, and maintaining accurate records. The Logistics Officer's responsibilities will include - but will not be limited to the following:
Logistics Support
- Coordinate with the government supply unit and transport providers to schedule vehicle distribution to schools
- Support the execution of forward and reverse logistics operations to replenish stock and return defective products
- Handle ERPNext transactions to distribute program equipment in Schools.
- Monitor fleet utilization and maintain records of distribution expenses, and provide a monthly report
- Liaise with technical service partners and vendors to track equipment deliveries and installation schedules and record all transactions in ERPNext
- Support problem-solving efforts and report logistics challenges to the Logistics Manager
Inventory Management Support
- Manage the inboard and outbound of the Central warehouse and Hubs.
- Maintain inventory management systems (ERPNext) and update records of equipment at school sites and warehouses
- Conduct regular physical stock counts at warehouses and coordinate stock counts with service partners and in schools. Keep the system up to date on the inventory levels in all sites.
- Support implementation of warehouse management protocols and best practices (6s)
- Track inventory movements between warehouse, service partners, and schools
- Prepare inventory reports including stock levels, movements, and losses
- Maintain inventory tracking tools and update logistics KPIs dashboards
- Report warehouse running costs and manage the warehouse budget.
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies or issues to the Logistics Manager
Health & Safety Support
- Ensure proper safety precautions are followed at the warehouse
- Monitor physical security measures for high-value items in warehouses and during transit
- Report any safety concerns or security incidents to the Logistics Manager
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following competencies, experiences, and qualities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a relevant field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics and warehouse management
- Experience with inventory management systems (SAP, ERP or similar systems preferred)
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
