Position Summary
The South Zone operations team is excited to launch new projects in Telangana within our education and livelihood verticals. We are seeking a professional who can take ownership of critical project aspects and support the project lead in achieving key outputs and outcomes. This role involves engaging in primary and secondary research, building strong government relations, and implementing essential project components with key
stakeholders. Additionally, support may be required for operations in three other states as per project needs.

Role and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities would include:
Project Operations:
● Execution of Project Plans: Work on the actioning of various aspects of the projects with the government across tech, policy, and process. This could involve creating presentations and draft memos for specific policy agendas, scheme design/re-design, technology and policy solutions for improving implementation.
● Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with various teams within Indus Action to drive key project outputs and outcomes, ensuring alignment and synergy across functions.
● Identify and Address Bottlenecks: Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and support the implementation of strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Research & Analysis: Play a key role in conducting research and analysis based on the project requirements through both secondary research and field work to support the team's project design and strategy.
● Secondary Research: Conduct secondary research, which will include looking at budget outlays, government websites, reports, and socio-economic research on key areas of development and government initiatives based on the team's requirements.
● Field Work: Conduct on-ground focus group discussions, informal visits and formal surveys to collect data to further landscape analysis and/or policy suggestions based on the team’s needs and requirements of the projects.
Stakeholder engagement:
● Engage with Government Functionaries: Build and maintain relationships with government officials at various levels regarding specific project aspects.
● Connect with Citizens: Engage directly with citizens from economically and socially disadvantaged groups across diverse geographical areas to gather insights and feedback.
● Drive Partnerships: Establish and nurture on-ground partnerships with local NGOs and civil society organizations to enhance project reach and impact.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
● Contribute to Evaluation Plans: Actively participate in developing project monitoring and evaluation plans to assess effectiveness and impact.
● Document Learnings: Capture key learnings from the welfare delivery system on the ground to ensure knowledge transfer within the organisation.
● Leverage Technology: Utilise technology for efficient data collection and processing, enhancing the accuracy of insights generated.
● Standardise Reporting Formats: Develop standardized report formats and establish dashboards to effectively share insights and analysis with stakeholders.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s / Master's Degree from any stream (preference will be given to candidates with a background in Public Policy and Social Science), though candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
Technical Skills:
○ Strong analytical and research capabilities, both qualitative and quantitative.
○ Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language would be an added advantage.
● Knowledge: Working knowledge of the Building and Other Construction Workers Act and/or Right to Education Act, preferred.
● Experience: 3+ years of work experience working with government projects preferred.
● Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to build relations with diverse stakeholders.
● Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a remote multidisciplinary team environment while being self-motivated.
● Language proficiency: Ability to read and write in Telugu would be an added advantage.

Benefits

Compensation
The compensation range will be between 7-11 LPA, depending on the qualifications, experience, and role fit. The candidate would need to use his/her own laptop, and the organisation will bear the annual maintenance cost of up to INR 12000 per year, as per actuals.
