THE OPPORTUNITY & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inkomoko is seeking an experienced Field Security Associate Reporting to the Security Focal Person, with a very close working relationship with the Operations Manager, the Field Security Associate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols across Inkomoko’s offices in South Sudan, particularly in Juba ,Maban and Jamjang.
This role includes conducting risk assessments, coordinating emergency response plans, and ensuring compliance with organizational and local security standards.
The Coordinator will also liaise with local authorities, humanitarian partners, and internal teams to maintain a secure working environment for staff and clients, especially in high-risk areas. Experience working in fragile contexts and a strong understanding of South Sudan’s security landscape are essential for success in this position
Security Management
- Provides supervisor with timely and credible security information and contextual analysis of the local security situation through: daily incident alerts and bi-weekly analytical reports for his/her areas of responsibility.
- Conducts security risk assessments in new areas/routes and advises the line and technical manager on security measures for Inkomoko offices, project activities and staff.
- Assists Security Focal Person in the enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures and contingency plans, providing inputs on existing documents, updating information in tools available, identifying procedures to revise and suggest new ones.
- Provides assistance in the conduct and follow up of incidents affecting staff and offices, sharing reliable reporting with the line management.
- Facilitates training of drivers, guards and field staff on topics identified by the Security Focal Point (alert system, tracking, access control etc.)
- Conduct induction sessions to field staff whenever necessary.
- Daily checks on security and safety road conditions and other security related facts to be provided to Security Focal Person
- Performs other security-related tasks assigned by the Security Focal Point, Operations Manager and the Managing Director.
- Supports Security Focal Person in tracking staff movement
Safety Management
- Contributes to the proper set up of safety equipment and applied security measures in place in vehicles and premises, in coordination with the line and technical management.
- Contributes to the proper set up and monitoring of the safe rooms in the bases
- Identifies safety needs in the areas of operations and quickly addresses them to the Security Focal Person.
Liaison
- Establishes and maintains an active information network by liaison and coordination with NGOs, UN and other national and international security actors to obtain credible and relevant safety information.
- Coordinate and liaise with Security Forces and relevant authorities to effectively communicate Inkomoko’s operations in order to build reliable levels of acceptance at local level and enhance accessibility to the areas of operations.
- Represents Inkomoko at security meetings or forums, as well as ad hoc meetings as instructed by the line management.
- Meets with the representatives of different government offices and other administrative and security services, often as necessary, to facilitate executions of planned activities.
- At the request of the Security focal Person. Operations Manager or Managing Director represent Inkomoko in meetings with communities and government and non-government stakeholders to negotiate access to the field, and prepare a full report.
- Report to the line supervisor the progress of on-going procedures and alert in case of change of legislation as regards government procedures in all related aspects.
Operational Support
- Supports logistics and operations teams in planning secure transportation routes and scheduling movements in volatile areas.
- Ensures emergency preparedness plans are in place and regularly tested, including fire safety, evacuation drills, and medical emergencies.
- Conducts regular audits of security infrastructure (e.g., CCTV, perimeter fencing, access control systems) and recommends upgrades where needed. Other duties, as required.

Qualifications Include:
- A true customer-service mindset to support employees for effective delivery of Inkomoko’s program work
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Emergency or Disaster Management and Operations Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Safety and Security management, preferably within a social enterprise or similar environment.
- Proven experience in managing multi-site operations and supervising diverse teams.
- Excellent leadership, highly communicative, with strong interpersonal skills, fluent in English and Arabic language.
- Strong analytical and solution oriented, and decisive in an emergency situation.
- Proficiency in software, such as ERP systems, and MS Office
- Clearly understand the South Sudan context dynamics.
