ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Investment Reconciliation Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial transactions and records within the investment department. You will play a crucial role in reconciling various investment accounts and maintaining financial records in compliance with regulatory standards. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and financial expertise are essential for success in this role.

Reconciliation of Investment Accounts (30% time)

    • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of loan accounts ensuring discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved.
    • Verify cash balances and other transactions against internal records and external sources.
    • Work with the investment team to resolve discrepancy between the loan management system and the accounting module.
    • Keep records of reconciled reports and share them with the Investment Manager
    • Ensure loan accounts are fully reconciled against Loan Management System

Financial Reporting and Analysis: (30% time)

    • Prepare a monthly report with details of loan disbursements and repayments, and monthly closing outstanding balance.
    • Collaborate with investment managers and other stakeholders to provide insights on portfolio performance and investment strategies.

Risk Management: (20% time)

    • Monitor and report on potential risks associated with investment transactions and financial reconciliations.
    • Implement controls and procedures to mitigate operational and financial risks.

Loan Documentation Verification and Processing (20% time)

    • Perform verification of loans documents (Contracts, Bank details, Investment Committee minutes, insurance fees) before disbursements
    • Maintain appropriate files of loan documents.
    • Process clients loans disbursements and funds to investment team timely and ensure they are properly supported
    • Perform all other related duties as assigned to meet the deadlines.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A university degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration or another related field
  • Must speak fluent French, basic English and knowledge of other local languages like Arabic is a plus
  • Knowledge of MFIs or banking operations, credit risk management, provision for doubtful debt, fraud management, and Debt Management
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in investment operations, financial reconciliation, or related roles within the financial services industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., IFRS, COBAC standards, OHADA) relevant to credit operations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
