ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Brand Designer will contribute to raising the visibility of Inkomoko within our existing and prospective stakeholders across all our locations.
Reporting to the Director of Communications & Storytelling, the Brand Designer responsibilities include:
- Evolve the visual system and design language (color, typography, iconography, use of the three O’s, photography style) to align with the new website and brand personality.
- Develop and manage a brand toolkit and design governance system—ensuring templates, social cards, event collateral, and country-level adaptations stay consistent and high quality.
- Champion brand guardianship through periodic audits, feedback loops, and design QA processes across all communications outputs (digital, print, field activations).
- Collaborate with the Campaigns and Storytelling teams to concept and design integrated visual campaigns that strengthen thematic areas such as “Solutions Found Here,” Financial Inclusion for Refugees, and Community as Superpower.
- Develop signature visual styles for high-visibility events (Africa Forum on Displacement, Annual Report, TED Talk, FT Summit) to reinforce leadership positioning.
- Create modular storytelling templates (infographics, social motion graphics, pitch decks, publications) that scale across teams and markets.
- Design and roll out staff empowerment tools—guides, templates, Canva kits, and training sessions—to enable non-designers to produce on-brand content.
- Partner with Communications leadership to introduce a visual review framework and maintain brand KPIs (visual consistency, audience recall, engagement lift).
- Mentor junior designers and collaborate cross-functionally (Digital, Media, Programs) to ensure brand coherence and innovation as Inkomoko expands regionally.
- Preparing and maintaining repository of templates including offline web pages, flyers, brochures, catalogs, training documents, newsletters, factsheets, PowerPoint presentations, briefs, and any other business development material
- Creating and managing Inkomoko image and video library.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Brand Designer will be passionate about how business can be a force for social change, and will be able to translate that passion effectively and efficiently into compelling visual messages along the Inkomoko brand.
Technical competencies:
- BA in Brand Design, Design Communication, or related field
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
- Typography knowledge
- Multimedia content development
- Media production, communication, and dissemination techniques
- Creativity and originality
- Fluency of ideas
- Attention to detail, adaptability & flexibility

- Organization, ability to juggle multiple projects
