ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY & RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is critical to Inkomoko’s growth at a time of increasing human displacement and reduced overseas aid, by cultivating relationships with funders who support our mission and goals. A key priority will be to identify and cultivate relationships with a pipeline of future donors.
This role also involves working closely with colleagues throughout Inkomoko to develop new partnerships through rigorous research and compelling proposals. We need a strategic thinker to build on our five year fundraising strategy, collaborating with members of the senior leadership team across countries to meet our revenue targets. This role is open to people who are based in the USA, ideally New York or Washington DC. Visits to Inkomoko’s countries of operation will be required, in addition to travel within the US.
Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Lead and execute a philanthropy strategy to raise multi-year, flexible funding from major donors globally
- Meet annual revenue targets and forecast long-range income projections to support organizational growth
- Identify new donor markets, including the US, Europe, and GCC philanthropic ecosystems
- Build partnerships that elevate Inkomoko’s reputation and open doors to new funding communities
Thought Leadership & Brand Elevation
- Grow incoming funder interest by increasing Inkomoko’s global visibility and developing our online presence
- Position Inkomoko as a global leader in refugee entrepreneurship through storytelling and donor engagement
- Represent Inkomoko at key sector events, conferences, and donor convenings
- Collaborate internally on campaigns and outreach efforts that elevate Inkomoko’s brand as the go-to implementation partner
Donor Stewardship & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value prospects, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship
- Prepare senior leadership for donor meetings; coordinate CEO participation and board fundraising activities
- Oversee compelling proposals, reports, pitches, and impact communications tailored to major donors
Team & Operational Management
- Lead and develop a high-performing fundraising team with clear goals, coaching, and performance metrics
- Strengthen internal systems for CRM, donor tracking, and revenue reporting
- Collaborate with Finance, Communications, and Programs to develop investment cases and evidence of impact

- 10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, partnerships, philanthropy, or business development
- Proven success in securing 6–8 figure grants or gifts from major foundations, individuals, or corporate philanthropy
- Strong global network in development, philanthropy, or impact investing (Africa experience preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership of diverse teams across multiple countries
- Excellent relationship-builder and communicator across cultures and seniority levels
- Strategic thinker with comfort managing complex portfolios and competing priorities
- Commitment to refugee inclusion, economics, entrepreneurship, and dignity
