ABOUT THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator is an existing position within the Digital Transformation Department reporting to the Regional Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Admin. As Inkomoko continues to expand its technology footprint to support hybrid work environments and client-facing digital programs, this role is critical in ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing IT systems across Rwanda.

The IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator is responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support, maintaining infrastructure reliability, and strengthening systems security while ensuring excellent internal customer service. The role includes the following responsibilities:

Tech Support (40%)

  • Manage and respond to IT requests using the IT Service Desk management tool in accordance with defined SLAsContinuously update and improve the IT Service Desk knowledge base
  • Provision and deprovision user accounts across systems (Microsoft 365/Google Workspace, CBS, ERP, IMS, CRM systems, cloud platforms, VPN, etc.)
  • Configure and deploy staff laptops, email accounts, calendar access, collaboration tools, and secure endpoint policies
  • Provide user training on company technologies including ERP/CRM systems, productivity suites, cybersecurity awareness, and general IT best practices
  • Troubleshoot ERP, CRM, financial systems, and internal applications, prioritizing mission-critical teams such as Finance, Executive Leadership, and Country Managing Directors
  • Deliver high-quality, timely technical support to both in-office and field-based staff
  • Conduct proactive support visits to field offices as required
  • Plan, test, and implement software upgrades and patches

Infrastructure & Network Administration (20%)

  • Support the administration of office network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, access points, VPN tunnels, and internet redundancy solutions
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security on a daily basis; escalate complex issues when necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, asset documentation, and configuration records
  • Enforce ICT policies and acceptable use standards across the organization
  • Ensure endpoint protection, patch management, and antivirus systems remain current and compliant
  • Support implementation of cybersecurity controls, backup systems, disaster recovery planning (RTO/RPO alignment), and business continuity measures
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects that enhance availability, performance, and security

IT Asset & Systems Management (20%)

  • Manage procurement, configuration, and lifecycle management of IT assets including laptops, printers, tablets, projectors, and networking equipment within approved budgets
  • Conduct quarterly preventive maintenance of IT devices and infrastructure components
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory records and ensure proper tagging and tracking
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee hardware repairs, ensuring timely turnaround and documentation
  • Track warranties, licenses, and renewals for software and hardware systems.

Systems, Data & Collaboration Platforms (20%)

  • Support monitoring and evaluation systems such as KoboToolbox, Power BI, and other data collection and analytics platforms
  • Administer collaboration tools including Zoom, Slack, shared drives, and meeting room technologies
  • Serve as technical lead for company-wide meetings, special events, and retreats requiring IT setup
  • Support ERP system improvements and integrations in collaboration with the Digital Transformation team
  • Assist in automation initiatives and digital optimization projects.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure management within East Africa
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Fortinet, ITIL, Cisco) are an added advantage
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms, enterprise productivity suites, networking fundamentals, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Strong documentation and systems thinking capability
  • Must be fluent in English & Kinyarwanda.
