ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Talent Development Associate plays a central role in strengthening the organization’s workforce by driving recruitment, employee development, performance management, and culture & engagement initiatives. The purpose of this position is to ensure that the organization attracts, develops, and retains talent while fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace culture. The role reports to the People & Culture Manager - Rwanda.
Recruitment & Staffing (30%)
- Conduct workforce planning and job analysis to identify staffing needs.
- Manage candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection processes.
- Draft clear and inclusive job descriptions and specifications.
- Support employer branding and talent attraction strategies.
- Oversee offer management and onboarding to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
People Development (40%)
- Align workforce capabilities with organizational strategy by conducting training needs assessments that anticipate future skill requirements and close critical gaps.
- Build sustainable leadership pipelines through career pathing and succession planning that ensure continuity in mission-critical roles.
- Institutionalize coaching and mentoring frameworks to accelerate talent growth, strengthen leadership readiness, and embed knowledge transfer across teams.
- Design and deliver holistic learning & development programs (technical, leadership, and soft skills) that drive innovation, resilience, and long-term organizational performance.
Performance Management (20%)
- Embed a culture of accountability and excellence by facilitating strategic goal-setting and performance standards aligned with organizational priorities.
- Leverage data-driven insights through appraisals, 360° feedback, and performance reviews to inform talent decisions and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
- Create recognition systems that reinforce values and outcomes, ensuring rewards are tied to both performance and cultural contribution.
- Enable managers to lead with impact by equipping them to address underperformance constructively, implement improvement plans, and foster continuous growth.
Culture & Engagement (10%)
- Design and deliver employee experience programs that foster belonging and trust.
- Embed organizational values and leadership behaviors into daily practices.
- Organize recognition events and team-building activities.
- Implement wellbeing initiatives focusing on mental health, resilience, and digital wellbeing.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a strategic People & Culture professional with the following qualities:
- 5+ years of proven HR expertise mostly across, employee development, performance management, and engagement succession planning in Rwanda.
- Strategic thinking to anticipate workforce needs and design solutions that strengthen organizational resilience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, coach managers, and engage staff at all levels.
- Analytical capability to interpret HR metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Commitment to values and culture, ensuring organizational behaviors reflect inclusivity, accountability, and excellence.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic environments, influence at multiple levels, and create workplaces where people feel empowered, supported, and motivated to perform at their best.
