How you will make an impact

As an Accountant Analyst you will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency at our Bogotá office while collaborating with Instiglio’s Global Operations, People, and Finance teams in Bogota, Kenya and Morocco. This unique position spans accountant, Office Administration, and Compliance, offering a dynamic and cross-functional work environment. Your responsibilities will include inputting accounting data into SAP, calculating taxes for invoices, preparing tax forms, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP standards. You will also manage financial statements, analyze accounting operations for Colombia and the USA, and prepare accurate, timely monthly reports to reflect the company’s financial position and support strategic decisions.

The key responsibilities of the Accountant Analyst , will include, but are not limited to:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in accordance with legal and company accounting guidelines.
  • Review expenses, payroll records, and other financial documentation.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure information is accurate and readily available when needed.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Assist the Controller in monthly and yearly closings.
  • Support other accounting projects as needed.
  • Provide assistance to the Operations Officer, contributing to key operational and administrative tasks.
  • Actively participate in internal management and support the administrative operations of the Bogotá office, ensuring its smooth and efficient functioning.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting, business administration, or a related field. Or completion of 7-8 semesters in an Accounting program.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, with a solid understanding of general accounting principles, payroll management, and tax administration. Experience in finance or related fields within the international development sector or start-up environments, especially working with global teams, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge in software: Skills in all Microsoft Office/ Google Suite applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
  • Skills:
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP (training will be provided).
    • Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) or Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) Advanced skills in Excel are mandatory.
    • Advanced written and oral communication skills in English (B1).
    • High organizational skills with impeccable attention to details and accurate data entry skills.
    • Teamwork skills with the ability to work autonomously.
    • Strong numerical skills, structured thinking and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work comfortably and communicate effectively in a multinational, culturally diverse, and virtual environment.
    • Willingness to learn and grow.

Instiglio does not offer a fully remote working arrangement.
